Education

Jennifer attended Indiana University as an undergraduate and majored in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and Germanic Studies, minoring in Linguistics (the study of language). She received a Master’s Degree in TESL from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Work Experience

2023-Present

Over the last few years, Jennifer has worked as a substitute teacher and paraeducator in two K-12 (Kindergarten - Twelfth grade) school districts. She primarily works with Special Education students who require more assistance and flexibility than other students.

2020-2022

Jennifer was an online English Consultant for the biotech company Mdimune in South Korea. She edited previously translated biomedical journal articles to improve clarity. She also assisted an employee with presentation preparation, confidence, and proficiency.

2015-2016

She was the Writing Instructor at an Associate level college, PNCC, in eastern Washington State. Her duties were grammar instruction and essay composition. Her students were a unique group of lower economic students who wished to pursue higher education and expand their world.

2010

Jennifer worked as an office aide and instructor at Drexel University’s English Language Center. She focused on colloquial language and cultural comprehension, emphasizing the diverse nature of the United States. The program was attended by students from all over the world: China, India, Peru, Syria, Kuwait.

Personal Interests

Growing up in central Indiana, Jennifer has a Midwest, “newscaster”, accent. She has always been passionate about languages and has studied German, Spanish, and Korean. Her other passions included culture, history, and writing.
